Grand Massif: Getting Here
Le Grand Massif ski area is the most accessible large ski area in the Alps from the UK. By plane, it is a 70 minute flight from a southern UK airport to Geneva then just a 50 minute drive from the airport. It is possible to hire a car at the airport however the most convenient and cost effect travel from Geneva is by airport minibus transfer. We can organise this for you. Grand Massif: Getting Around
Samoens and Morillon are situated in the middle of the Giffre valley. Both Samoens and Morillon have cable cars that directly access Le Grand Massif ski area. It is possible to ski down into Morillon Village on either a blue or red run. Samoens and Morillon are 3km apart and there is a free ski bus that connects the two towns. The buses stop in the early evening, and after that there are a number of Grand Massif taxi services that operate into the small hours.
Grand Massif for Families
Le Grand Massif is a fantastic child friendly winter resort. Being just 50 minutes from Geneva airport it is the most accessible large ski resort in the Alps. Le Grand Massif ski area is also located at a child friendly altitude with beginner slopes starting as low as 1,100m, despite the skiing going as high as 2,550m. Le Grand Massif ski area is enormous with a number of excellent nursery slopes. There are two excellent ski school options for children, one local creche in Samoens and one local creche in Morillon, and a great British run nanny company.
