Lac de Montriond

Lac de Montriond is a stunning lake encircled by the surrounding mountains of the Portes du Soleil. The Lac is a 10 minute drive from the chalet and can be accessed by the free public bus in summer. It takes around 30 minutes to walk round the whole lake and there are a couple of restaurants and cafes to stop at to enjoy a coffee and watch the sun disappear behind the mountains.

Walking and Hiking

Hiking in the Portes du Soleil is some of the best in the Alps, with no less than 800km of marked paths to explore where you can even walk into the Swiss Alps. Whether you plan to take gentle walks or more difficult days hiking you will be able to discover alpine villages, dairy farms and beautiful scenery along the way. We recommend taking maps and books available in your accommodation or from the Tourist Office. Guides can also be arranged locally in Morzine or just ask our in resort staff about some of their favourites.

Morzine and the Portes du Soleil open their lifts from mid-June to mid-September. Morzine becomes one of the top destinations during the summer for mountain bikers or VTT (Velo Tout Terrain) as it is known in France. Please note that all of our properties have secure indoor bike storage.
