At The Tasty Ski Company our chefs have one night off a week meaning our guests will eat out on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. The best restaurants in Morillon and Samoens tend to get booked up quite quickly. We can organise restaurant reservations for our guests in advance so that you can grab the best tables. Whether you are a worshipper at the temple of gastronomy or are looking for a break from the 4-courses plus cheeseboard, there is something for everyone in the valley. The key is to be organised and get booked in quickly. Normally your host will have a chat with you on arrival day and get you booked in somewhere that evening. However during the busy weeks (New Year and Half Term) it is a good idea to book something a few days earlier. Below is our quick guide to what’s available:

Cheap and Cheerful

Le Potet – 0033450901916

Situated in Verchaix and offers possibly the best pizzas in the valley. It is run by a husband and wife team and is about a 6 minute walk from Chalet Mautalent. Prices are extremely reasonable and the restaurant very much caters for families and large groups.

French Rustic

Le Tourne Pierre – 0033450901379

Again family run and situated on the walk between Morillon and Verchaix. Expect all the alpine classics from fondue to raclette and tartiflette – expect lots of cheese and plenty of cured meats. Alpine classics are often butchered by poor imitations but Le Tourne Pierre shows us all how it should be done.

Fine Dining

Hotel Le Morillon – www.hotellemorillon.com – 0033450901032

Situated on the corner of Morillon old town and a 7 minute walk from Chalet Mautalent. Rated as a ‘Bib Gourmand’ in the 2013 Michelin Guide, and without question the best place to get top notch cooking. It is also reasonably priced if you go for the fixed price menu.
