Samoens occupies a truly stunning part of the world. Located in the beautiful Giffre Valley in the Haute-Savoie region of France but just an hour from Geneva airport, the retreat offers a tranquil escape from reality. Our holidays run on a Sunday to Sunday basis (short stays available on request) and include a fully catered stay in an ensuite room along with our Unlimited Group Yoga package. The yoga sessions take place in Ferme St Christophe’s stunning converted 18th century Barn, or if it is a nice day we have a large private garden space. Our classes cater for beginners through to advanced practioners. The days will combine dynamic strong flows with more gentle deep tensions releases, pranayama and meditation. It is possible to combine your walking holiday with our Self-Guided Walking Holidays.

Our Yoga Holidays - What’s Included

7 breakfasts - 4 cooked + continental and 3 continental.
6 afternoon teas - cakes, baguettes, coffee + tea.
6 dinners - canapes, 3 courses + cheeseboard + tea and coffee.
All drinks in the chalet (wine, beer + soft drinks) - unlimited service not just at meal times.
Unlimited Group Yoga (Monday - Saturday inclusive) for the 7:15am and 5:30pm sessions.

Our Yoga Holidays - What’s Not Included

Flights
Airport Transfers - we can organise these from Geneva for £85 per person return subject to availability.
Insurance
1-to-1 Yoga Classes - these can be organised for £50 per 1 hour session - or any additional classes that are occasionally put on outside of the 7:15am and 5:30pm sessions.
Massages - these can be organised for £30 - £80 depending on the treatment

Morzine and Samoens have a huge variety of activities available during the summer months. Because our group yoga sessions are in the morning and evening it allows our guests to explore the valley during the day. Click here for more information on available activities. These activities are not included in the price that you pay for the yoga retreat however we can organise them for you with various third parties at an additional cost.

Is this trip right for me?

This holiday is suitable for anyone who loves the outdoors and exploring everything that the stunning French Alps have to offer. The yoga sessions are suitable for all levels of experience and fitness. You will have the middle of the day free allowing you to check out the beautiful medieval town of Samoens or go further afield with a number of activities on offer.

We welcome couples, groups of friends, families and single travellers (who can either share a twin room or pay a little extra for sole occupancy).

Weather Information

From the beginning of June to the end of September the weather is typically warm and humid in the valleys. Tempertatures during the day range from 15 to 25ºC in the valleys (although it can sometimes reach 30ºC in July/August). Hot humid days folllowed by early evening thunderstorms are not unusual.

What to Bring

All yoga equipment is supplied at the chalet. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable practising yoga in. During the Spring and Autumn it may be a bit colder for the morning yoga session so we recommend bringing leggings or lose fitting trousers suitable for sport. However please note that the Barn is fully heated if required!

Spring and Autumn Holidays

June and September are amazing times to visit the Rhone Alps. Samoens will be quieter than in the busier summer months allowing you to explore the area in a more tranquil setting. Samoens town will be open for business however expect some bars and restaurants to be closed in Spring and Autumn.

Kate is a 200hr registered yoga teacher from the UK trained in hatha, vinyasa and yoga therapy. She has been practising yoga for 7 years and first began going to a couple of classes at the gym for the physical benefits but soon found there was so much more to the practice and started her own daily practice at home. Kate spent much of 2018 abroad, teaching yoga in surf camps and eco lodges in Sri Lanka and Central America. Kate’s classes are usually a vinyasa-flow style focused on a specific theme or working up to a particular pose, with an emphasis on how the poses make you feel, rather than how they look. Kate has a caring and compassionate approach to teaching and believes that yoga can and should be for everybody, and endeavours to personalise the class to each individual student, offering a variety of levels, based on each student’s ability. In addition to yoga, Kate enjoys hiking, climbing, surfing, and generally being active and in the great outdoors.
